One tip that I wish I knew when I first started my career
What to pick when you first started your professional career?
Lately, I am getting cold messages from young university students. They generally ask me what’s my advice to them after graduation.
Shortly, I just tell them not to pick the company, title, or the money in the early years of their career.
Just pick a great boss that teaches you how to be a good human being in your business and private life. And work for him/her at least for 2 years.
Sounds good but how you understand someone is a great boss, right?
Simple! If the boss tells you two things passionately during the job interview. That means he/she is a great boss. What are these two statements?
If the boss tells you why he/she built this company (mission)
If the boss tells you where the company will be in 10 years? (vision)
Then this person is a great boss! Never work for cheap people without a compelling mission and vision when you first start your career.
This is the one important tip I wish I knew when I first started my professional career. Now, I feel like it really resonates with my own experiences in my professional career.
